FRIES. French fries are easily one of my favorite foods. There are so many options, shoestring, waffle, regular, fast food, etc. I pretty much love them all. I’ve been making my own recently to cut down a bit on the calories. So, this is my easiest and main go-to recipe for baked fries.

One of the best things about this recipe is as far as seasonings, it’s totally customizable! I usually go with salt, pepper, and garlic powder, but you can pretty much add whatever you’re feeling. Cajun seasoning, parsley, nutritional yeast, paprika, onion powder—endless possibilities!

This recipe also works for whatever amount of potatoes you would like to use. The only thing that really changes is how many baking sheets you will need.

I also advise that these typically take about 35-40 minutes to bake, however, please keep an eye on them. If they start to look done and crispy before then, feel free to remove the pan and test a couple to see if they’re cooked through.

You can pair these with any dips as well! My favorite is vegan nacho cheese, ranch, or just regular ketchup.

These super easy baked fries are a healthier alternative to regular, fried potatoes and totally customizable to your taste!

Ingredients

Ingredients

  • 4-5 Medium Russet Potatoes
  • Spray Avocado Oil
  • Salt & Pepper, (to taste)
  • Garlic Powder, (optional)

Method

  • 1)

Preheat your oven to 400 degrees (F).

  • 2)

Wash your potatoes. I leave the skin on, but you can also peel them if you prefer. Cut the potatoes in strips. I typically prefer thinner fries, but cutting them thicker will create more “steak-type” fries.

  • 3)

Place cut potatoes on a parchment lined baking sheet. Spread them in a thin layer so they aren’t overlapping. You may need to use an additional baking sheet depending on the size of your potatoes.

  • 4)

Lightly spray your potatoes with the avocado oil (or oil of choice). If you prefer to use a different type of oil, you can toss them in a bowl with the oil before placing them on the baking sheets.

  • 5)

Sprinkle salt, pepper, garlic powder (optional), and any other seasonings you would like on your potatoes. Toss the potatoes a bit to get them evenly coated with seasoning.

  • 6)

Bake for 35-45 minutes until golden brown (oven cooking times may vary). Flip or move the fries about half way through cooking time.

  • 7)

Serve with your favorite dipping sauces, and enjoy!
